		<description>I agree that health care should be rational. Unfortunately we live in a world of capitalism, where the sales pitch, not the rational argument, rules.

And when it comes to women&#039;s health, we live in a world where women can buy anything in the color pink (mostly toxic plastics which may contribute to breast cancer with xenoestrogens) to &quot;support&quot; breast cancer &quot;research&quot;, but where no one talks about the environmental causes of cancer or punishing the polluters. All our dollars instead go to companies to make more drugs which may or may not be safe or helpful.

And to top it off, women are told that if they aren&#039;t thinking positively enough the cancer is their fault. (See Barbara Ehrenreich&#039;s book Bright-Sided)

And if anyone wonders why mainstream feminist organizations like NOW have a hard time attracting younger members (like me), look at their views on plastic surgery. It&#039;s the same BS. We have to attack and destroy ourselves to fit in a mold that is impossible, not fight the external causes that created the mold.</description>
